Australian icon Debra Byrne has put together an impressive repertoire of her most memorable stage performances for a special concert at the Clocktower Centre, previously known as the Essendon Town Hall, Victoria.
Ripe, the concert, is set to take audiences on a musical journey through the performer’s life on the stage, in hit productions including Jerry’s Girls, Les Misérables, Cats, and Sunset Boulevard in which she featured with Hugh Jackman.
Audiences from throughout the City of Moonee Ponds – including suburbs such as Flemington, Ascot Vale, and Essendon – will be able to share her personal recollections of why each song is so significant, as well as enjoying a swag of popular hits from around the world.
In a career that began when she was a young child performing on television shows like Brian and the Juniors and Aussie all-time favourite Young Talent Time, Byrne’s vocal talents and performance skills have won her a strong and dedicated fan base nationwide.
After leaving Young Talent Time, Byrnes forged a very successful career as a recording artist, including hit singles with He’s A Rebel and Da Doo Run Run.
Proving her versatility, Byrnes turned to acting, appearing in popular television shows such as City Homicide, The Secret Life of Us, Naked, Law of the Land, Police Rescue, and GP. She also scored the starring role alongside Matt Dillon in the feature film Rebel. Her image has been used on many promotional poster printing campaigns, drawing audiences to leading theatre productions across the nation.
