Business leaders from around Essendon can mingle with other entrepreneurs from Moonee Valley and its surrounding area next month at the Leaders in Business Breakfast event.
The meeting is part of the Business Victoria annual small business festival which aims to help small and medium size enterprise owners develop their skills, as well as hearing from some top entrepreneurs.
At this year’s breakfast, the guest speaker will be David Smorgon, a respected business leader with more than three decades of experience.
Smorgon is best known for his time with family business, Smorgon Consolidated Industries, where he spent 25 years. He also spent 16 years as chairman of the Western Bulldogs AFL team and was chairman of Family Business Australia for six years.
He currently runs another company with his three sons and his own training business, as well as acting as patron for SportsConnect - an organisation that links business and sporting groups. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2000 for his services to the Bulldogs and to the health, education and social welfare sectors.
The event will also be a good chance to connect with other business owners so professional business card printing should be considered for anyone attending. Digital Business Cards can also be useful, allowing participants to quickly swap details electronically.
The breakfast will be held at Shortstop Jet Charter in Hanger Five at Essendon Airport on Friday August 28.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
