Quilting exhibition to be held in Essendon

Essendon quilters will be displaying their work at an upcoming exhibition. Exhibitors have been asked to reflect on the reasons why they made their quilt or quilts.

The convener of the event Janette McInnes believes that messages and emotions can be expressed through the art of making a quilt. The reasons that people make quilts are varied, as are the quilts that will be on display.

One of the unique elements of this exhibition is that members of the quilting group will be available to chat to visitors. They will also demonstrate the process of making a quilt. It is important that visitors are aware that one of the quilts is up for auction. The proceeds of the sale will go to a cancer related charity.

Organisers of the event may want to start an advertising campaign. This will draw attention to the event which in turn will lead to more visitors. Not only will quilting get more attention, it is also likely that the auction will raise a higher price. Using printing services to make up Flyers is an excellent way to promote the event without spending a lot of money. As the exhibition starts on March the 30th, there is plenty of time to market the event. The Flyers should state the time and date of the event as well as some information on quilting. Ideally there will be a brief blurb about some of the more prominent quilts at the exhibition.
