Primary school fete to celebrate milestone birthday

Pascoe Vale Primary School, near Essendon, will be celebrating its 125th year of education in November with a fete for the local and wider community.

As Flyers and Signs will no doubt point out, the fete will be the culmination of a year of memorial events, including the opening of the Anzac Garden in April, and will give an opportunity for the whole family to join in the festivities in a day of fun and activities for all ages.

Sausage sizzles will be available, along with plenty of other food and drink. Stalls will be selling a variety of goods and products, and there will be many rides and other activities for the children, which will include a giant slide. Show Bags will be available for sale, and auctions, raffles and other entertainment will add to the fun of the day.

Pascoe Vale Primary School held its first classes in 1891 and is proud of its history. Now boasting almost 500 students, it echoes the multicultural diversity of the community, with 39 languages spoken by the people who study there.

The Fete will be held on Saturday, November 12 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pascoe Vale Primary School at the corner of Gaffney Street and Cumberland Road. Entry is free and the event is open to all ages.
