Posters promote Mental Health Week 2011
Mental Health Week for the state of Victoria will be held from October 9-15 this year. Hundreds of events are planned throughout Victoria which are designed to draw attention to the issue and to remove the stigma faced by those who experience mental illness. The reason this week was chosen a Mental Health Week is because World Mental Health Day takes place on October 10 this year.
Mental Health Week will kick off with the official launch on October 9th at the BMW Edge in Richmond. The poster proclaiming the week was designed by the winner of the Consumer Art Competition. If you want to use this to help promote the week, the poster printing can be done directly from the Mental Health Foundation of Australia (Victoria) website.
The purpose of Mental Health Week is to encourage open dialog and understanding of mental health issues, to disseminate information to the public and to remove the stigma attached to those with mental illness issues. The week also gives local mental health organizations such as the Essendon Community Counselling Service a chance to highlight their services.
Among the hundreds of events is the Wildflower Festival in Cranbourne which takes place at the Botanical Gardens, a Walk 4 Wellness in Warrnambool and the Delmont Private Hospital Mental Health Week Seminar Series. There will also be musical and cultural events to appeal to both youth and adults.
As with any such event, marketing is vital to its success. Poster printing is an ideal method - it is cost effective, and can enable organisations to target their demographic.
