Perth set for Australia Day fun

Australia Day is just around the corner and the City of Perth is gearing up to mark the 30th anniversary of its annual celebration.

The event is billed as the largest Australia Day celebration in the country and each year thousands of people attend the entertainment and fireworks display. This year more than 300,000 are expected to enjoy the fun.

Families from East Perth wanting to join in should head to the city's Langley Park, where most of the entertainment will take place.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be activities for the young and old. Children will enjoy the puppet theatre and the animal park while adults might like to explore the hawker markets or have a game of paintball. The whole family can play mini golf and Australia's longest running family circus, Circus Joseph Ashton, will be putting on free shows during the afternoon.

A regatta along the Swan River and an air show featuring aerobatics and skydivers will keep the crowds busy before the spectacular fireworks, water and laser show ends the celebration.

With so much to see and do, the event is sure to create some fantastic family photo opportunities, the best of which could be printed by a professional Print company as a memento of the day.

The entertainment in Langley Park starts at 3:00 pm and finishes just before the fireworks display, which is at 8:00 pm. A range of food stalls will be available or families can bring their own food and use the designated picnic areas. For information about all the events, see the Visit Perth City website.
