Perfume masterclass offered to Essendon residents

Essendon residents will have the opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of fragrance with an online introductory class.

Samantha Taylor from The Powder Room, who has more than 25 years’ experience working with fragrances and beauty products, will lead the workshop. Participants will be sent an Olfactorium, a portable organ used by perfumers to create fragrances.

The masterclass will look at the origins of different perfumes, the use of perfume through history, how perfumers train and how best to select a fragrance for personal use, as well as the best method of application and storage for your perfume.

The differences between mass-produced and handmade perfumes and the varying materials used, including synthetic and natural, will also be discussed.

When the Olfactorium is delivered, it will contain all the raw materials necessary for participants to create a personal perfume. The workshop costs an initial payment of $195 per person, but this includes a deposit of $150 for the Olfactorium, which will be refunded when the organ is returned. Participants will create a 10ml perfume to keep.

Workshop convenors often use printing services, such as flyer printing, to advertise upcoming events. Flyers can be printed and distributed to relevant businesses and throughout the community to potential participants.

The Virtual Perfume Masterclass will be held on Wednesday, October 21 from 6.30 – 8.30pm. Tickets can be purchased online.
