Inaugural neurodiversity conference to come to Essendon

Essendon locals are preparing for an upcoming neurodiversity conference, which is scheduled to take place in July.

The inaugural, two-day Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy Conference will embody the theme “Understanding Neurodivergence in All Forms”, and is organised and coordinated by a team of neurodivergent academics, professionals and event organisers.

This conference is designed to grow participants’ understanding of the varied Forms of neurodivergence and will bring together leading national and international experts to explore key topics related to neurodiversity, including giftedness and neuro-affirming care.

The conference will include keynote speeches, a symposium sharing recent developments in research and discussion panels on topics including body image, paediatrics, leadership and trauma.

The event will also feature an exhibition, coordinated by the League of Autistic Psychologists and Affirming Colleagues (LOAPAC), which will allow professionals and organisations to share their work, resources, materials and opportunities for additional learning.
