Essendon Royals celebrate 60 years
The Essendon Royals Soccer Club is celebrating its 60th anniversary next month.
The club has been giving the local community a chance to be part of the World Game and indulge in their passion for the sport since 1959. The club was originally formed as Unione Sportiva Triestina, a reflection of the Italian roots of its original members, many of whom came from the northern Italian City of Trieste.
Over the years, the club has had several changes of name and merged with several other clubs. Priding itself on being a welcoming club, there are now women’s, girls’, mini-roos’ and boys’ teams and the club is looking to develop its facilities, or possibly acquire new ones, so that it can continue to expand.
The anniversary will be a great opportunity for past players and club members to catch up with old friends and teammates to reminisce over past glories and disappointments.
Organisers of events such as this often use printing services to create various materials that can act as mementoes of the event.
The anniversary celebration will be held on Saturday 17th August from 6:30pm at Hyatt Place, Essendon Fields. The dress code is formal. Tickets cost $150 and include a three-course dinner with beer, wine and soft drinks. Tickets can be booked through the Essendon Royals website.
