City council plans festive events for Essendon area
Moonee Valley City Council has many events planned so that residents can get into the Christmas spirit close to home.
Councillor Richard Lawrence, who holds the Business Promotion folio on Council, encourages residents to do their Christmas shopping locally to make the lead up to Christmas less stressful. He said:
In Moonee Ponds, Hall Street will be decorated with a giant Christmas tree and lots of fairy lights, Niddrie will have a ferris wheel in Wallis Mall and illumination artist Projection Teknik will be lighting up Woodland Street in Strathmore with a Christmas projection.
Essendon North Village will be celebrating Big Christmas Saturdays on the 8th and 15th December from 10am to 2pm. Santa Claus and the elves will be visiting and there will be free entertainment, a sausage sizzle and face painting.
For children who don’t like crowds but would love to see Santa there will be an opportunity to get photos with the big man in a quiet, low-stress environment on Tuesday 4th December from 8am to 10am at Kmart Mall, Moonee Ponds Central. Bookings are required to secure a time slot so there will be no queues. Call Centre management on 9370 5411.
This time of year is always busy for printing services with many businesses and events needing posters and flyers for festive events.
