The Mayoral Charity Community Race Day will be held again at the Moonee Valley Racing Club in August, with the Mayor in attendance along with members of the Council.
This is an event for the whole family to attend, as well as a chance to get dressed up in their best race clothes and enjoy a day out.
The Council has partnered with the Moonee Valley Racing Club and other sponsors from the community to present this race day for the past 11 years, raising more than $285,000 over that time as a charity event for a poverty-stricken community in East Timor. Additionally, this year funds will be directed to the Essendon Prostate Cancer Support Group, as well as Cancer Research and Cancer Support charities organised by Rotary.
This may be of particular interest to residents from nearby Essendon. Other attractions will include free face painting for the children, a petting zoo and pony rides. There will also be athletic events in which the children can participate.
Banner printing, Brochures, Flyers and Signs are likely to be in use on the day, and for advertising prior to the event.
The Race Day will be held on Saturday, August 20th at the Moonee Valley Racing Club at Moonee Ponds. Anyone under the age of 18 will be admitted free of charge.
