Celebrate with top food award winners at special dinner

Australia’s top food producers will be celebrated at the Presentation Dinner of the 2017 Australian Food Awards in Ascot Vale, near Essendon.

The Australian Food Awards (AFA), headed by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, is regarded as the country’s leading national awards programme for food.

Now into its second year, the awards are an important annual event on food industry Calendars, according to an AFA spokesman, who said:

“The Australian Food Awards offer broader opportunities for Australian producers to leverage success locally and internationally with the AFA’s national brand seal of quality.

“The AFA presents producers, large and small, with the chance to benchmark their products, establish their credentials in the Australian premium food industry as well as provide differentiation in the market for award winners.”

The spokesman said entries were judged in eight chief categories, including convenience foods, pantry goods, grains and pulses, fresh produce, seafood, poultry, meat and dairy.

The awards night to be held on the Masterchef set at the Melbourne Showgrounds this Thursday, September 7, will feature the presentation of trophies to award winners including the Best Product and Australian Producer trophies.

La Luna Head Chef Adrian Richardson has designed a special menu featuring medal-winning produce from the 2017 awards to be enjoyed by diners during the three course dinner.

Everyone is invited to attend the event and join some of the industry’s finest producers in celebrating and tasting exceptional Australian food at its finest.
