Otter Group looks for a buyer

The Otter Group, which is a large supplier of fencing, nails, wire and screws, is still trading even though it is seeking a buyer.

The company has been in business for more than half a century. However, it has entered a period of receivership under the supervision of PPB Advisory. Although work is continuing at a production facility within Dandenong, it may be the case that a takeover creates local demand for fresh Letterheads and Logo Design.

External manager David McEvoy, who works for PBB Advisory, said:

“There has been a strong level of interest in the business with multiple parties attracted to Otters’ brand heritage, market presence and customer base. Our aim is to conclude the expressions of interest campaign within the next four weeks and help the business emerge from receivership in a stronger position.”

Despite the fact that the Otter Group had an annual turnover in excess of $25 million before its spell of difficulties, a set of unfortunate circumstances appear to have made receivership into an attractive option for the company. According to ApplianceRetailer.com, the issue is largely down to a major customer failing to deliver the money for various supplies promptly.

The future of the organisation could be helped by the intellectual property which it possesses, which includes items associated with several different brands. Connections with various commercial clients could also prove decisive.
