Young people aged 16 to 25 in the City of Greater Dandenong can soon attend an informative session that outlines the comprehensive content of a Young Leaders program.
The program, run by greater Dandenong Youth and Family Services, is looking to recruit inspiring young leaders. The session will be run by program facilitators and will enable those attending to meet previous participants and learn about their experiences.
The program itself takes place on Tuesdays from May to September. Within the weekly schedule, learning will include topics such as communication, public speaking, teamwork and conflict management.
A major part of the program is also about helping young people plan and deliver projects that are pertinent to the issues of local youth. Additionally, attendees will be introduced to the work and role of local government, and will be able to meet councillors and the mayor.
Flyer printing is one of the many ways in which local initiatives like this one might advertise upcoming events in the community.
The Young Leaders Information Session is taking place on Tuesday, 24 March, from 5 pm until 6 pm. The venue is the Youth and Family Services Office,39 Clow Street, Dandenong. The event is free to attend, but it is necessary to register beforehand. Applications to join the 2026 program close on Tuesday, 14 April.
