The bright future of Victoria’s manufacturing industry is set to be showcased when outstanding individuals and businesses are recognised as part of the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards.
Businesses from Dandenong and throughout the state are being urged to nominate for the awards which highlight the industry’s importance both now and in the future, according to Minister for Jobs, Innovation and Trade, Martin Pakula.
Pakula said there are in excess of 279,000 people employed within Victoria’s manufacturing industry. ‘Industrial Evolution’ is this year’s theme, a focus it shares with National Manufacturing Week which will be held from May 14 to 17.
The awards themselves will recognise exceptional innovation and leadership by businesses and individuals. Success in the awards would make a great inclusion on company Business Cards as they often unearth some of the best performers in each field.
Categories at the awards include ‘Manufacturer of the Year’, ‘Leader in Workforce Skills Development’ and ‘Leader in Industry 4.0’.
New categories included for the first time are ‘Leader in Global Supply Chain Partnerships’ and ‘Leader in Innovative Product Development and Commercialisation’. One business will take pride of place in the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
Awards for individuals include ‘Woman Manufacturer of the Year’, ‘Young Manufacturer of the Year’ and the ‘Honour Roll’.
Nominations close on March 12 with the winners announced on May 14 at a special gala dinner.
