Businesses in the Dandenong area around Abbotts Road will be consulted about what is to happen instead of a previously proposed road closure.
The business community within the district around Abbotts Road had been alarmed at a proposal to close a road in southern Dandenong. However, a consultation involving approximately 400 citizens found little appetite for the scheme. As a consequence, the authorities have rowed back from their initiative. If the council wants to test the popularity of alternative ideas it might use printing services within Dandenong.
The view of Gabrielle Williams, a politician who operates at the level of the state, was quoted in the Greater Dandenong Leader. He said:
“Your feedback has helped shape this project for the better and will continue to be critical to the planning and design of this level crossing removal.”
It is possible that a bridge will be built as a result of the policy shift. On the other hand, an acceptable outcome may be achieved by changing the height of the infrastructure. Further alternatives are likely to be announced to the public in the near future.
Paul Kearsley, who works for the council of Greater Dandenong, focuses on the needs of business. Kearsley claimed that the response to public disquiet was positive news for the business community. Further, he said that the future should involve an improvement in transport connections for the area.
