Allen said:
“It’s a bit of an honour. It’s not just me who put in the effort, it was all the officials and volunteers who helped run the event and made it so successful.”
Allen has officiated during the last couple of seasons, and was instrumental in construction of the course at Rawson. Motorcycling Victoria also noted Allen’s excelling in interpersonal relations in an approachable, friendly manner during the often times hectic event. He even dedicated his time to organising the cleaning up duties.
Allen has been a member of the Dandenong Motorcycle Club for the past five years, and his helpful nature led him to becoming an official.
“Being an official is a great way to be involved in the sport, and to help out the kids, and it’s rewarding just seeing everyone having a good time.”
he said.
The Dandenong Motorcycle Club has been motoring along for 80 years, and provides a safe and friendly environment for enthusiasts, including junior riders, who are supervised on trail rides by senior members, with everyone doing their part.
