Local manufacturing puts Greater Dandenong on map

The Greater Dandenong manufacturing district is leading the way in innovation and technology, with a number of companies gaining recognition at this year’s Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards

Among the Professional Services category finalists was leading supplier and manufacturer of robotic systems in Australia, Robotic Automation, which is based in Keysborough.

Recognising exemplary individuals and companies working within the manufacturing industry is a focus of the awards.

Marketing officer Peter Davis said the achievement was a first for the company and, rather than being based on a specific project, was secured by its history in manufacturing.

He said that since 1988, the Australian-owned business had been operating in Victoria to support manufacturing throughout the state.

Robotic Automation not only supplies robotic systems, which are featured in full colour Catalogues, but also maintenance, service, consultation and other services.

Davis said the systems are able to automate repetitive processes and tasks to maximise productivity, efficiency, safety and quality, while reducing costs and damages.

He said the company was also able to audit the automation potential of a site and develop models on 3D printers to illustrate a possible equipment solution.

Robotic Automation has also been the recipient of a recent Endeavour Technology Application Award.

Davis said the win was generated from the company’s robotic carpentry system, which was installed at CMTP Packaging in Dandenong South.

He said the system effectively improved accuracy and tripled productivity at the premises, which manufactures pallets, livestock crates and custom packaging.
