Residents of Dandenong that are aged 12 to 25 can take advantage of a free workshop to learn how to use air dry clay in July.
Air dry clay is an ideal medium for beginner projects. Although it is not as durable as clay that will go on to be fired, it is versatile, user-friendly, malleable and non-toxic, and easy to use to hand-mould intricate designs. It is mostly made of clay and water, although sometimes, additional material such as fibre is added to make it more robust.
Air dry clay dries on exposure to air, and this can take from minutes to several hours, depending on the thickness of a finished piece. Once dry, the clay can easily be painted with watercolours or acrylics as it holds the colour well.
At the Air Dry Clay Workshop, which is run by the Youth and Family Services in conjunction with Greater Dandenong Libraries, there will an opportunity to make unique pieces such as pots and trinket bowls.
Flyer printing to advertise local events is often undertaken by local Print shops.
The Air Dry Clay Workshop will take place on Monday, 7 July from 2.30 pm until 4 pm at the Dandenong Library, which can be found at 225 Lonsdale Street in Dandenong. The class is free to attend, but it is necessary to register for a place.Get a Free Quote for Print
