Dandenong’s new civic square will host two major events this festive season, and locals are being invited along to celebrate.
Harmony Square in central Dandenong will be the venue for both the annual carol concert and the New Year’s Eve party this year.
The Carols by Candlelight concert, organised by the Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Friday, December 18.
Families are encouraged to bring their own candles to light during the event, and a good voice to join in with the traditional carols and modern festive songs. A fireworks display will be a highlight of the evening, along with a visit from Santa. Families are invited to bring a picnic or enjoy dinner from one of the food stalls.
On Thursday, December 31, the Square will once again be transformed into a party zone to mark the end of 2015. The celebrations start at 5:30 pm and a special fireworks display will be held at 9:25 pm to make it more family friendly.
Other entertainment includes live music, craft workshops, face painting, and a jumping castle, as well as a range of food and drink outlets.
Either of the events would make a good family photo opportunity. This could be developed into Holiday Cards or ‘thank you’ cards for Christmas gifts with the help of a professional printing company
