Residents and schools from across Dandenong are being encouraged to put themselves forward for the city's Sustainability Awards.
The awards celebrate locals who have contributed to environmental sustainability across the city.
Any project that has taken place in the last five years is eligible, as long as it created a positive outcome for the environment such as increasing recycling or reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
There are three categories – one for schools and early learning centres, one for small groups of students, and another for individuals who practise sustainable approaches in their home or garden.
The winners will be able to share their stories through videos on the council's website, and may also find themselves featuring in promotional material, such as poster printing, to encourage other Dandenong residents to think more about the environment.
Winners and finalists will also receive hardware or garden supply vouchers, or a Dandenong Plaza voucher and a Myki concession card. The winning school will be able to visit the Dandenong Civic Centre to learn about its sustainable practices and tell councillors about their project.
