Foodies in Dandenong can now experience the flavours of the world under one roof.
Dandenong Market, home to some of the most authentic street food in Melbourne, will be running 90-minute street food tours. Visitors can expect to stop at select vendors for tastings and insider tips. Some of the foods available include Dutch poffertjes, Afghan mantu, Turkish gozleme and even some well-known treats, such as cinnamon scrolls and fish and chips.
The tours provide a way to delve into the different cultures of the local traders that make up the market. Tour guides will take attendees to the most popular food stalls and trucks, where they will be able to sample a variety of foods from around the world.
All ticketholders will receive a complementary Dandenong Market shopping bag, complete with samples from stallholders and other Promotional Products. Keeping in line with safety measures, each participant will be given a self-serve bowl and cutlery to help themselves to the food samples.
The Dandenong Market Street Food Tours are limited to groups of 10 and will run on selected Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year. June’s tours are sold out, with the next available session falling on Saturday, 17th July. Tickets range from $10 for children, seniors, concession holders and City of Dandenong residents to $20 for adults.
