Dandenong to benefit from first aid course

A new one-day course in first aid is set to be held in Dandenong.

A face-to-face course in first aid will now take place at Dandenong’s Cove Training. Companies delivering training courses in specialist subjects like first aid will sometimes use brochure printing services to create informational Booklets that explain what is included during their programmes and to detail any qualifications awarded.

Before attending the eight-hour course, all candidates must complete an online theory training session, followed by an assessment. Entitled “HLTAID003 Provide First Aid”, the course involves the knowledge and skills needed to provide an effective first aid response, management of casualties and life support, among others, while awaiting the arrival of qualified medical assistance.

The course will include how to manage unconscious casualties, how to use a defibrillator, how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and details on dealing with a variety of conditions like asthma, diabetes, heart attacks, anaphylaxis, fractures and dislocations, burns, strains, and sprains.

After successfully completing the course, all candidates will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

The First Aid course will be taught at COVE Training Dandenong, located at 5 Broadlands Street in Dandenong, on Wednesday, June 1. The course will start at 8.30 am and end at 5 pm. The cost of the course is $160 per person, and those looking to enrol are advised to book early as limited spaces are available.
