An iconic soul artist with a successful career spanning decades is set to play live for Melbourne audiences.
Soul music devotees in Dandenong will soon get their last chance to see the legendary Gladys Knight in concert. March will see the soul singer perform for her fans at Melbourne Southbank’s acclaimed Hamer Hall as part of her upcoming tour of both Australia and New Zealand. Dubbed “The Farewell Tour”, this will be Knight’s last live performance after a stellar career.

Renowned as the "Empress of Soul", Knight was born in 1944, and enjoyed early success in the '60s, '70s and '80s with her family-based group known as Gladys Knight & the Pips. The band included her cousins Edward Patten and William Guest, as well as her brother Merald Knight.
During her tenure, she has recorded two number one Hot 100 singles "That's What Friends Are For" and "Midnight Train to Georgia", had 11 number one R&B hits and six number one albums in the R&B chart.
