Dandenong residents can enjoy a fun night out and help raise money for a good cause later this month.
The Kathleen Keegel Children’s Fund is holding a dinner dance to raise funds for its charity work. Melbourne-based cover band In2Groove will provide live entertainment at the event, and there will also be a DJ to help the party go with a swing.
The Kathleen Keegel Children’s Fund works with people in Sri Lanka to care for under-privileged children and orphans. It is run by the family of Kathleen Keegel, who was born in Sri Lanka but moved to Australia to raise a family. Now some of her family have returned to live in Sri Lanka where they manage a children’s home and run other groups for young children.
In keeping with the charity’s work, the dinner will include traditional Sri Lankan dishes as well as Western food for those with less adventurous tastes. Guests should bring their own drinks. A raffle will also be held on the night.
