The council recently endorsed a new design for the Hub, which will now enter the next step of the process, entailing the creation of a more detailed design plan.
The recent public comment procedure which put the Hub's draft design on show for comment from the public generated a great response, according to Mayor Jim Memeti.
He said excitement and interest in the project was at a high level, with each submission being carefully considered. As a result, design amendments were made, leading to a 104 square metre extension to the building's eastern/community wing.
The extensive public input was welcomed by the Mayor, who said locals will benefit greatly from such a beautiful facility on the community's doorstep, adding:
"This is a venue which has long been sought after by Keysborough South residents, so it was critical to us that it meet their needs into the future."

Set to enjoy a corner location at the intersection of Keysborough's Villiers and Chapel roads, the new community hub has been designed to make the most of the site's unique attributes. Design features include activity and community meeting rooms, child care and kindergarten rooms, community kitchen, multi-functional lounge, as well as consulting suites and seating and outdoor play areas. Construction is expected to begin in 2021.
