Dandenong residents have plenty of chances to get into the Christmas spirit in the lead up to the big day, as the council is putting on a number of events throughout December that are sure to entertain visitors of all ages.
On Sunday, December 14th and Sunday, December 21st, there will be free activities for children at Dandenong Market, while other events include stilt walking elves and the chance to take home a balloon creation.
On Monday, December 22nd, Tubby the Christmas Robot will be singing a range of festive favourites from 11am, and on Tuesday, December 23rd, the Great Christmas Gizmo will be entertaining the crowds.
Families can also make a special trip to see the Elves on Reindeer entertainers on Christmas Eve, in a bid to keep children entertained.
The bright colours and festive atmosphere at these events should make some great photographs, which families turn into quirky ‘thank you’ cards for Christmas presents using postcard printing.
Residents can also enjoy the annual carols by candlelight in Dandenong Park, which is scheduled for Friday, December 19th, with live music, traditional and modern festive songs, food, and a visit from Santa.
All the events take place at Dandenong Civic Square and in Lonsdale Street. For full details regarding the festive schedule, visit the City of Greater Dandenong Council website.
