Chance to raise money on the golf greens in Dandenong

Businesses from Dandenong and around the region are being invited to take part in this year’s charity golf day scheduled for next month.

The Take a Swing for Charity event allows local business owners to treat their colleagues, business partners or staff to an afternoon on the golf course while raising money for a good cause. More than $250,000 has been raised during the six years the event has been running.

This year, the money will go to the State Schools Relief Fund, which helps families across Victoria to buy their children uniforms, clothing, and shoes.

The organisation was also the chosen recipient for last year’s event, which raised $44,000, all of which was used to help Dandenong families. However, the demand is still so high, it was decided to support the group again this year.

While the main focus of the day is raising money, the golf tournament could also be a good networking opportunity, so attendees might like to take some Business Cards along with them.

Players can register individually or as part of a corporate package, and tickets include lunch and a networking dinner in the evening. Nonplaying guests are invited to the dinner, which also includes a fundraising auction.

The golf day will be held at Sandhurst Golf Club on Monday, February 22, starting at 11.30 am. Places should be booked by Friday, February 12.
