Run Maroondah registrations open

Keen runners from Croydon have just two weeks left to get the special early bird pricing for this year’s Run Maroondah.

The annual event includes a 5-kilometre course that can be run or walked and is suitable for families, and a 10-kilometre run for more regular athletes. The course starts in HE Parker Reserve in nearby Heathmont and follows a route along the Dandenong Creek Trail.

This year, the run will be timed, enabling participants to see if they can record a personal best or to get a baseline for running other events in the future.

Nonrunners could support family and friends taking part by using banner printing to encourage them to keep going, especially during the latter stages.

Anyone who Signs up for the run can also attend a special evening training session on Friday, September 4 in Croydon.

The session will be run by qualified running coach Rebecca Rosel and Run With Life founder Mel Cook, and will cover how to best approach the event and prevent injuries.

Run Maroondah takes place on Sunday September 27, and early bird pricing ends on Friday August 28. Participants can still register after that date but will need to pay the full entry price.

Registrations can be made online via the Maroondah Council website, or in person at Aquahub in Croydon. Money raised from the event will go towards preventing violence against women.
