Harmonious teacher to encourage participation in Croydon

Singers and non-singers in the Croydon area are encouraged to spend an afternoon session with a singing teacher to encourage and discover their innate singing ability.

Lucy Graham is the founder of Just Sing Something, which is now almost two years old. The idea behind it is to encourage harmonious singing for all, regardless of age and level of experience. It is a group singing experience, without audition or commitment, no fee to join and no expectation to perform. Songs are many and varied, old and new, and all kinds of spaces are used for these events, such as cinemas, churches, public spaces and pubs.

A recent attendee praised the experience fulsomely:
“Loved it. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming among the singers and leaders. There was no pressure to be ‘great’, but gentle help was available. Novices, like me, were made to feel quite comfortable.”

Musical scores for events might be reproduced by, and distributed from, local Stationery printers.

Just Sing Something with Lucy Graham is taking place on Saturday, 23 August, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. The venue is the Wyreena Community Arts Centre, which can be found at 13-23 Hull Road, Croydon. The cost of a place is $25, with music and lyrics provided on the day. Attendees can record the final performance to take away with them. This particular class is for adults.
