Emotional intelligence course on offer to Croydon fathers

Tuning in to Kids is offering a seven-week course to help fathers tune in to their children and help to increase their levels of emotional intelligence.

Higher levels of emotional intelligence have been shown to lead to better outcomes for children in education, health and relationships. It builds resilience to enable children to respond to challenging life events.

This evidence-based parenting course will give participants strategies and skills to communicate more effectively with children, improve understanding and management of emotions, set limits, solve problems and reduce or prevent problem behaviours.

The Dads Tuning in to Kids course will be facilitated by Ashley Taylor, a primary school teacher and also a dad. It will offer a relaxed and supportive environment where dads can share their experience of the challenges of parenting. The course was run in 2018 and received positive feedback, with one participant stating:

“My children are all starting to see significant changes in me and the way I relate to them.”

Such courses often use printing services to create learning materials to take home.

The course will be held at Deco Place, Croydon on Thursday nights from 7:30pm to 9:30pm starting on 9th May. A maximum of 12 participants will ensure everyone gets maximum benefit from the course. The cost for the seven sessions is $250 and bookings can be made through Deco Place.
