Advice for small business on offer in Maroondah

Small business owners from Croydon can find out more from government agencies and business advisors at a forum designed just for local business next month.

The Start Me Grow Me Forum is aimed specifically at small or homebased businesses and includes information on a range of employment issues and other aspects of running a business, as well as ways to grow a firm.

The formal programme includes the chance to pitch business ideas, a talk by a successful local business owner and a question and answer session with a panel of experts.

Representatives from a range of agencies including the Australian Taxation Office, WorkSafe and Small Business Victoria will be on hand to answer questions on topics such as how to meet tax obligations, how to handle complaints or employee disputes, and how to protect a business from scams.

Other areas to be discussed will include how to promote a business, how to tender for projects, and how to access federal and state government grants, and there will also be a chance to network with other local entrepreneurs.

Attendees might like to take Business Cards or even small Brochures explaining a little more about their company to give to potential backers or business partners.

The forum takes place on Wednesday, March 9 at 6:00 pm at the Maroondah BizHub headquarters. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided.
