Southport to host alt-rock hero
A legendary performer from Australia’s alternative rock scene is set to play live in Southport.
Renowned Southport venue Vinnie’s Dive Bar has booked Grinspoon’s singer-songwriter and guitarist frontman Phil Jamieson for a single-night show. Venues hosting shows, from live music to comedy, often employ professional flyer printing services to create colourful leaflets advertising their upcoming acts and events.
Now performing solo, Jamieson is appearing in Southport as part of a tour across the country to introduce audiences to his debut release entitled “Somebody Else”. The upcoming recording will be officially released on July 29 through Cheersquad Records and Tapes in a wide range of formats. Fans will be able to by the album digitally, on CD and classic vinyl.
Along with his years with Grinspoon and numerous collaborations with artists both at home and overseas, Jamieson has also performed in an onstage musical. In 2017, the performer took the role of St Jimmy in American Idiot when the Broadway musical premiered in Brisbane.
Jamieson will enjoy strong support on the night from The Pictures. Headed up by Davey Lane, the band are returning with their original line-up for the first time in 18 years.
Phil Jamieson and The Pictures will perform live on stage at Southport’s Vinnies Dive Bar, Nerang Street, on Thursday, July 28. The show will begin at 8 pm.
