A celebrated American musician will be performing a live set in Southport next month.
Southport’s Broadwater Parklands will be extending a warm welcome to US multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Ben Harper when he plays a selection of his latest music for audience members from around the suburb.

Born Benjamin Chase Harper, the American artist performs an eclectic blend of blues, soul, folk, rock, and reggae music. He is equally well-known for his lead vocals, guitar skills, activism, and live performances. To date he has recorded and released 12 albums in the studio, along with multiple live titles, most of them via Virgin Records.
Harper has three Grammy Awards to his name and has been nominated seven times for a wide range of awards. These include “Best Pop Instrumental Performance Award”, “Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album Award” and “Best Blues Album Award”.
During the ceremony for the 40th Blues Music Awards, a joint composition between Harper and Charlie Musselwhite entitled "No Mercy in This Land", claimed the esteemed title of “Song of the Year”.
