Southport plays host to inspirational gala event

The annual Orange Ball charity gala evening will be held at Southport in September to increase community awareness of organ donation.

The aim of the ball is to raise funds for Transplant Australia, with over 400 guests from the Gold Coast and Southport communities, including business owners, expected to attend the event.

The event will include dinner and drinks, along with inspiring entertainment. The organiser of the Orange Ball is Gordon Rutty, who is himself a kidney donor. The proceeds of the ball will go towards the Matty Hempstalk ‘Live the Dream’ Scholarship, which is awarded each year to a young transplant recipient to enable them to partake in their chosen sport. Promotional Products may be available at the event to increase awareness of the charity’s work, and guests will also be able to make donations online.

Transplant Australia aims to support all those who may require an organ transplant at some point in their life, as well as their families. The charity’s goal is to ensure that all people who require a transplant can receive one. The ‘Live the Dream’ Scholarship was established after the passing of organ recipient Matty Hempstalk, Transplant Australia’s Sports Coordinator.

The Orange Ball will take place on Saturday, September 16th at 6:30pm at the Southport Sharks Event Centre, Corner Olsen and Musgrave Avenue, Southport. Tickets cost $180 per person, with discounts available for tables of 10.
