Melbourne rockers to play Southport
A rock group from Melbourne will be playing live in Southport this winter.
Southport music hotspot Vinnies Dive Bar has announced it will be welcoming some homegrown talent to its stage this August in the form of Melbourne rock band CIVIC. Local venues that regularly host live music often engage professional flyer printing services to create easy to distribute advertisements.
The gig in Southport will be the last date in their regional tour throughout August, which will see them also play in Wollongong, Canberra, Newcastle and Maroochydore. The Australian tour dates will follow a sold-out tour of Europe and the UK and be a prelude for their first tour of the US in October.
After the release of their 2023 studio album entitled “Taken By Force”, CIVIC have gone from strength to strength. The band described their release as “1984 meets Endless Summer”, and it has already earned acclaim from critics, including a 4-star review from MOJO as well as feature records from both PBS and 3RRR Radio.
The Melbourne five-piece formed in 2017 and currently consists of Lewis Hodgson, Jim McCullough, Roland Hvlaka, Matt Blach and Jackson Harry.
CIVIC will now perform a live set at Vinnies Dive Bar on Saturday, August 19. The venue is situated at 44A Nerang Street in Southport. The show will kick off at 7pm.
