Christmas carols coming up in Southport
Southport will be holding its annual Christmas carols this weekend.
The Mayor’s Christmas Carols is on again this year and will boast performances by David Campbell and guest artist Emma Pask. The backing groups will be Brothers 3 and local Gold Coast trio Sirens.
Known as a top-tier event in the lead up to Christmas, the carols are an occasion for families and local people to gather together and join in the festivities of the season.
Guests will be able to join in singing their favourite Christmas carols together with the Allstars Christmas Countdown and Santa will be on hand to meet the children and discuss the all-important Christmas wish list. The Grinch Live Show musical will also be performed at the carols.
The event is presented by Mercedes-Benz Gold Coast. Other sponsors of the carols include 1029 Hot Tomato and Nine News Gold Coast. Banner printing may be used by sponsors of events like this to advertise.
No fireworks will be lit this year as a mark of solidarity with all those who have been affected by the recent bushfires on the East Coast. The evening will instead culminate with joyful anticipation of the upcoming Christmas season and the hope for a better year ahead.
The carols will be held on Saturday 7th December, beginning at 2pm for some kid’s fun and 5pm for the main event, at Broadwater Parklands in Southport.
