California rock bound for Southport
A Southport venue is set welcome a Californian hard rock band to its stage this September.
Those with a hankering for some American rock music will not want to miss the band Sasquatch when they play a live set at Southport’s Vinnies Dive Bar. The band will be visiting the city as part of their tour of New Zealand and Australia entitled “Fever Fantasy”. The tour, which will see them also play in Sydney, Brisbane, Katoomba, Canberra, Wollongong, Frankston, Melbourne and Adelaide, is named after the latest release from the band. Fever Fantasy is the group’s second recording and follows their successful LP “Maneuvers”.
Founded more than 20 years ago as a power trio, Sasquatch have risen to become one of most heralded groups of the American heavy rock scene.
Sasquatch will now perform live at Vinnies Dive Bar, which is based at 44A Nerang Street in Southport, on Thursday, September 1. The show will start at 7 pm and run until 11.45 pm.
The upcoming event in Australia will be Sasquatch’s first appearance Down Under for three years. On the tour, they will be joined on all dates by the primal rock band from Christchurch, Pieces of Molly.
