The Circuit Breaker program has been around for over two decades and is a popular medium for helping stressed and angry people be able to manage their feelings and communicate in an effective way. The strap line is Arresting Anger – Preventing Violence – Strengthening Families; the program was devised by Matt Boulton. A prison inmate has said of the program:
“I normally do the first week of a program and throw it in the bin. With Circuit Breaker, I had to keep coming back, because it was talking about me.”
Boulton has specialised in managing and counselling domestic violence perpetrators, which also stretches to workplace domestic violence. The Circuit Breaker program addresses the early prevention of domestic violence. Boulton was recently nominated as a finalist for the Logan Citizen of the Year award.
The Circuit Breaker filming day requires a live studio audience on Saturday, April 15, from 8.30am until 4.30pm. The venue is the Hope Centre – Logan, 440 Kingston Road, Slacks Creek, QLD 4127. Entry is free, but it is necessary to reserve a place. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
