Venue to bring colour and community to Slacks Creek

Slacks Creek families will soon have a new opportunity to get creative this summer, as an event at a local venue has been scheduled.

The full-day event invites and encourages children and their parents or caregivers to embrace their inner artist and explore art in all of its creative Forms.

The Art Cave is part of the programme for the Logan’s Big Summer Play-List community guide, and is a free, open-ended art space that allows children and families to create together. The initiative offers a creative environment that encourages little ones to be artistic as they paint, sculpt, glue and experiment.

The venue will be set up with several themed art stations that will include paint walls, clay tables, collage zones and sensory-friendly areas suitable for younger artists. Staff and volunteers will also be available to help with materials, but overall, the experience is designed to be child-led. For local community summer-based activities like this one, flyer printing can be used to help promote the family friendly experience in places like local cafes and libraries.

The Art Cave Family and Kids Creative Day has limited spaces available, so registration is recommended for families wanting to join. The activity will be happening on January 14 at the Unity Hub from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. The venue can be found on 123 Paradise Road in Slacks Creek.
