An important Queensland awards ceremony is being held at a community centre in Slacks Creek next month.
The suburb is proudly hosting the “Afriqueensland Awards 2026” this year. The upcoming event is organised by the Queensland African Communities Council (QACC) and is designed to celebrate the culture and excellence of the Sunshine State’s vibrant African community.
Hosts of cultural events like this one often work closely with trusted banner printing services that can create decorative signage that features specific motifs and key colours like the red, gold, black and green strongly associated with Africa.
The evening event will honour the outstanding leadership, achievements and impact of specific organisations and individuals within Queensland’s community. All attending the cultural gathering are invited to dress up and participate in a night that aims to inspire with stories of success and resilience.
Features planned include a special awards ceremony and live entertainment, and guests will get a chance to connect with change-makers, community members and leaders.
The QACC’s Afriqueensland Awards 2026 will take place at the Unity Hub Community Centre on Saturday, May 2. The event will kick off at 5 pm and finish at 10 pm, with the community venue situated at 123 Paradise Road in Slacks Creek.
Tickets to attend the celebration of African culture in Queensland are $40.02 per person.
