Brisbane will be displaying some of the ‘Wonders of the World’ created entirely from LEGO, in an exhibition that will be open to visitors and locals from all around Brisbane, including Fortitude Valley.
Ryan McNaught, dubbed ‘The Brickman’, and his team have laboured for over 4,944 hours to create the works of art that will be exhibited for the first time in a fully interactive, hands-on setting. Visitors will be encouraged to add detail to the displays with their own creations made from the colourful building blocks.
Over 50 global, historical attractions will be displayed, including the Great Wall of China, Big Ben, and a Lego replica of the Statue of David. Educational information will be provided for each of the works, allowing visitors to learn about the history of each of the landmarks.
Based in Melbourne in Australia, the Brickman is one of only 14 Lego-certified professionals in the world and his reputation has enabled him to be commissioned to build models for the Lego company itself, as well as other organisations worldwide, winning multiple awards and giving towns’ tourism teams an obvious item to send to their brochure printers.
The exhibition will be open from Wednesday, November 23 until Wednesday, December 14 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Brisbane. Entry is open to all ages.
