British rock band the Rolling Stones are to kick off the Australian leg of their latest world tour in Perth, with thousands of fans likely to flock from Bellevue and the surrounding areas.
Across the country, banner printing and poster printing will be rife, as what is set to be one of the most expensive concerts ever hits arenas. Taking place on March 19 at the Perth Arena, it will be the band's' first visit to the state in nearly two decades.
The last time the band was in the city, a crowd of 30,000 rocked to the Perry Lakes Stadium concert. That was in 1995, and the Stones will only return to Perth for one night, with tour promoter Michael Gudinski saying:
"The only way it could be done was to do one show only because they only do five shows every two weeks.”
Gudinski also confirmed that whilst prices have yet to be confirmed, the tickets would not be cheap. As a guideline, fans were paying up to $500 face value for tickets to the music icons’ opening of the Adelaide Oval.
The band has announced, however, that a 'lucky dip' draw will give seats for the tour away for just $99.
For those with more cash to spend, the Perth Arena will also have a special standing area. Built in the shape of the tongue logo the band is famed for, it will have enough room for up to 500 people to get up close and personal to their heroes.
