New talent to be showcased at BigSound festival

Fortitude Valley is set to host the 18th annual BigSound music festival later this year.

The event, which runs for four nights, showcases more than 150 national and international bands before an audience that includes industry decision-makers from around the globe.

During most of the past two decades, BigSound has helped launch international careers for a host of artists including Rufus Du Sol, Tash Sultana, Courtney Barnett, Gang of Youths, Flume and more.

The day programmes will give artists an opportunity to learn from and liaise with industry collaborators and gain valuable input on ideas from forward-thinking and revered music industry luminaries from around the world.

Many delegates have previously sat in on presentations by music industry stalwarts, many of whom have often been seen as a major focus in marketing campaigns featuring poster printing, like Steve Earle, Michael Chugg, Ben Lee, Mushroom’s Michael Gudinski, Peter Garrett, Amanda Palmer, Billy Bragg, Kim Gordon, Neil Finn and Nick Cave.

According to organisers, BigSound attracts in excess of 1,300 delegates with an average attendance at the festival of nearly 14,000.

A spokesperson for BigSound said the event will see 150 of the country’s best new artists perform across 18 stages located throughout the entertainment precinct of The Valley.

This year’s BigSound Festival will take place between September 3rd until September 6th.
