Communities around the world will be soon celebrating the avian set, and Wauwatosa is one of many that will be hosting a special event in honor of World Migratory Bird Day.
The city will be showing some love to its feathered friends by offering the opportunity to be part of its spring migration hike. The facilitator will be Mark McNally, who will lead the group to a variety of locations in County Grounds Park that tend to be good spots for seeing birds.
McNally will offer ID tips as well as more information about the species observed, and he will also discuss the venue's Bluebird Trail. Attendees may be able to spot warblers, orioles, and tanagers.
The organizers expect the available spaces to fill up quickly, and have asked participants to leave pets at home.
Birding is a pastime that can be enjoyed by most ages and abilities, and it provides a chance to connect with nature. Simple field guides, identification guides, species checklists, and branded promotional Pens can be prepared by a printing services company to hand out to the attendees in an event of this nature.
The Spring Bird Tour at County Grounds Park will take to the trails at 7:30 am on Saturday, May 10. Sturdy footwear and binoculars are both highly recommended to make the most of the day.
