Wauwatosa area event to introduce owls

Owls are birds of prey that often hunt silently in the night, and a Wauwatosa area outing will visit them in their home turf.

The Schlitz Audubon Nature Center has invited area families to be among the group that will be visiting the site in the evening for a Family Owl Prowl, which will be led by one of the facility’s staff members. The function will be held entirely outdoors, and everyone who plans on participating is asked to follow the most up to date policies for the prevention of the spread of Covid.

The organizers of the excursion explained that, as owls are well camouflaged and often unseen, sound may be the best way to identify them. The participants will learn calls made by a variety of species, and at the end of the hike, the group will be introduced to some of the site's resident feathered friends. Both members and non-members are welcome, and tickets start at $15.00.

By making learning fun, an activity like this may benefit both the natural world and people alike. Bird-spotting events like this may prepare kits that include record sheets, spotting and identification tips and promotional Pens for taking notes may be prepared to hand out to the attendees by a local brochure printing company.

The Owl Prowl will be exploring the woods around the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center on November 11th. Everyone who registers is asked to be at the venue by 5:00 pm.
