An upcoming Wauwatosa event will give parents tools they can use with their own family members that are suffering from mental health problems. Fostering discussion can play an important role in addressing mental health in the larger community.
Depression and other mental health concerns can often impact young people from all backgrounds. This event's organizers argue that if parents recognize the Signs, they will be able to offer help early on. The “More Than Sad” program will help them to do so, and funding for the session is being provided courtesy of money raised through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness walks.
The event will be held at Wauwatosa East High School, and organizers hope that by encouraging frank discussion of mental health, parents or guardians will be given both knowledge and actionable skills they can draw on. The day will be focused on kids in their teenage years, and since planners feel it is an important event, the attendees have been offered childcare should they need it. Advanced registration is appreciated.
While a presentation can offer an introduction to a topic, the attendees may want to learn even more. A brochure printing company will be able to craft informational materials for distribution, and these can be prepared in a wide assortment of styles.
Wauwatosa parents are highly encouraged to be part of this learning opportunity. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 8 and will run from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm. Get a Free Quote for Signs
