Winter concert heats up Greenfield

As the holiday season begins and the weather slowly turns colder, Greenfield is welcoming the yuletide with the 2016 Winter Concert. Presented by the Greenfield Concert Band, the show is one of the biggest performances in town.

The concert will be a mix of traditional Christmas carols, classical music, and old standard show tunes. The show is expected to last about two hours, with a small intermission in the middle. As a bonus to attendees, a free raffle ticket will be given out to each visitor. At the end of the performance a number of prizes will be raffled off. According to Flyers, only people who are present will be able to win.

The music is being performed by the Greenfield Concert Band, a nonprofit group first founded in 2013. The group is composed of a mix of amateur and professional adult musicians alongside students from the southeastern Wisconsin area. Their goal is to improve the repertoire of its members and provide the community with positive and memorable music experiences. Currently, they perform four concerts a year.

The 2016 Winter Concert will be held on December 2 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Greenfield High School Performing Arts Center, located at 4800 S. 60th St. Admission is free to the public and more details can be found on the website.
