This weekend, the City of Greenfield will hold the 1st Annual Light Up Konkel Park to celebrate the winter holidays.
The event will not only feature a festive holiday tree lighting presentation but also multiple family-friendly events. There will be the Candy Cane Hunt Walk, a holiday-themed scavenger hunt, for families to enjoy. The magician Great Scott will present a magic show, and there will be an Elvis Performance on the House of Harley-Davidson Music Stage. For a more elegant activity, horse drawn carriage rides will be available at the Carriage Ride Area.
During this first in what are planned to be annual tree lighting ceremonies, Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make an appearance at the Bluemel's Tree Lighting Area. Kids will also be able to get their picture taken with Santa at the Santa Photo Area. Food vendors will also be on hand selling popcorn and other treats for purchase. At the Festival Foods Warming Area, free hot chocolate will be offered while supplies last.
Sponsors of holiday community events like this often join in the festivities by offering Promotional Products during raffles or competition events.
The event is scheduled for this Saturday, December 4 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Konkel Park is located on 5151 W. Layton Avenue, Greenfield. The festival is free to attend and open to all.
