The Annual Greenfield Holiday Tree Lighting will take place next weekend, offering a free way to celebrate the arrival of the winter festivities.
Per tradition, the City of Greenfield will host the tree lighting event as a community engagement activity. There will be various other holiday-themed activities going on during the event as well. Attendees will enjoy activities such as the Candy Cane Hunt Walk and horse-drawn carriage rides. Magician Anthony will be performing his mystifying magic tricks as well as making balloon animals for the kids. Food vendors will be on hand selling local eats and snacks like popcorn, and drink booths will be offering free hot chocolate while supplies last.
The tree lighting ceremony will happen towards the end of the evening. The ceremony will be accompanied by caroling from the Greenfield Middle and High School Caroling Club, and Santa will also make a special appearance. The evening will wrap up with photo sessions with Santa.
Local vendors attending community festivals like this may decide to increase their customer base by giving out Business Cards to passers-by.
The tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It will take place at Konkel Park, which is located at 5151 West Layton Avenue. No dogs will be allowed in the park for the event.
